Direct bus service connects Saint Vlas with the cities of Nessebar, Sunny Beach, Elenite.  The border between these cities is blurred: Nessebar smoothly turns into the largest resort on the southern coast, Sunny Beach, the northern point of which closely borders the resort of St. Vlas.

The length of the route and travel time (excluding traffic jams) are:

  • Saint Vlas – Nessebar: 12 km, travel time 45 minutes
  • Saint Vlas – Sunny Beach: 5.5 km, travel time 20 minutes
  • Sveti Vlas – Elenite: 3.5 km, travel time less than 10 minutes.

The fare is paid directly to the conductor on the bus.

Saint Vlas commuter bus routes

Buses in Saint Vlas are represented by regular routes No. 5 and No. 8. Both buses run at intervals of 40 minutes. Since the schedule of one route differs from another by 20 minutes, the average waiting time will be about 20 minutes (it may differ depending on the time of day and season).

Nessebar – Sunny Beach – Sveti Vlas

The bus departs from Old Nessebar and travels through Sunny Beach to Sveti Vlas.  Making a 5 minute stop at the Sunny Beach bus station.

The peculiarity of the route is that, moving in this direction, bus number 5 calls at the center of St. Vlas, after which it continues to move all the way to the hotel “Garden of Eden” or “Raiska Gradina”, also known as “Garden of Eden”, where it turns around and departs back.

Bus route No. 8

Nessebar-Sunny Beach-St. Vlas-Elenite

Bus number 8 also leaves from Old Nessebar.  The Nessebar – Elenite route follows the same path as route 5,  with a stop at the Sunny Beach bus station and a 5-minute stop. Then the bus goes to St. Vlas (without stopping in the city center) and then heads to Elenita.

Moving along the route from Elenite to Old Nessebar, regular bus number 8 does not call at either the Sunny Beach bus station or the center of St. Vlas.

Due to significant fluctuations in passenger traffic on the St. Vlas – Nessebar section, a summer and winter schedule is in effect, which has not changed for many years. In it, the arrival time is indicated at three control points: the initial and final stop and one intermediate stop in Sunny Beach.


From October to the end of April, bus route No. 8 does not operate. And regular bus No. 5 has an increased interval. Winter schedule of route No. 5:

Where can you get from Sveti Vlas?

Sveti Vlas, the starting point of the bus route following a direct route to Sofia and back. In summer, intercity transportation is carried out daily, with several flights per day.

If you are planning to get from St. Vlas to Pomorie, Ravda, Sozopol, Burgas, Varna, etc., then you will need to use buses No. 5 and No. 8 to get to the Sunny Beach bus station and change to the desired flight.
