Burgas Airport (Letishte Burgas)

The airport of the city of Burgas (Letishte Burgas) is the second largest after Sofia Airport. 

The airport serves the southern resort area: Sunny Beach, Sveti Vlas, Nessebar, Pomorie, Ravda, Sozopol, Lozenets, Primorsko, Ahtopol, Chernomorets, Tsarevo, Duni and connects Burgas with 34 countries in 110 directions.

In 2016,  reconstruction was carried out at Burgas Airport.

Although the airport has the name Burgas, it is located in its suburbs, 10 km away, in the town of Safarovo. The airport is small and has only one terminal, but it copes well with serving passengers, even during the peak tourist season.

The first room of the airport where a passenger enters is the check-in hall. On the left side, opposite the information desk, you can pack your suitcase in stretch film for 15 leva . Here you can weigh your luggage; this service costs 1 lev.

It is prohibited to import weapons and drugs. There are restrictions on the import of cigarettes and alcoholic beverages.

200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos. Tobacco 250 gr.

Alcohol

  • 1 liter of strong drinks, over 22% ABV
  • 2 liters of drinks with strength up to 22%
  • 4 liters of light non-foaming wine

Currency

Currency over 10,000 euros per person must be declared.

Gold or platinum up to 60 grams, silver no more than 300 grams

Dairy products (fresh/pasteurized/condensed milk, curd products, sour cream, cheese, infant formula)

Allowed to import

 Honey – 2 kg per person.

Bakery products and confectionery products that do not contain meat products

According to the rules, pets flying to Bulgaria must be microchipped, vaccinated against rabies and have an EU veterinary certificate.
