Since for a good holiday at sea, you need the beach itself, it is important to figure out the location in advance. Let’s search for the best beaches in Bulgaria

The best beaches are those marked with the Blue Flag. To obtain/confirm it, beaches claiming to be the best are certified.

The Blue Flag quality certificate is a sign of distinction for the beach, which confirms the environmental friendliness of beaches and marinas (parking of yachts and boats).

This status must be confirmed annually , since the certificate is valid for one tourist season from June 1 to September 30.

Participation in the international Blue Flag certification is voluntary. To receive the designation, beaches and marinas must meet 33 criteria required by the Foundation for Environmental Education.

These requirements include such items as: safety, high beach equipment, mandatory presence of lifeguards, compliance with sea water quality standards, availability of showers and toilets, and others.

In total, there are about 250 swimming places on the southern and northern coasts of Bulgaria. Of these, only 14 beaches and 1 marina in Bulgaria have a Blue Flag certificate.
